STI testing & treatment - at no cost to you
When you’re sexually active, pregnancy may or may not be your greatest concern, but it’s important not to overlook the risks a sexually transmitted infection (STI) can present to your overall health. While pregnancy is a valid concern, you are only at risk for pregnancy about three days per month (around the time of ovulation); you are at risk of getting an STI every time you have sex. Some STIs, such as chlamydia and gonorrhea, can often be asymptomatic, meaning they don’t display noticeable symptoms. Take control of your sexual health and know for sure. You’re worth it.

Questions to ask if considering abortion:
Are there any risks I should be aware of?
Is the pregnancy in my uterus or is it ectopic?
How far along am I?
Would I need an abortion if there is no heartbeat?
What are the different abortion procedures?
Has my pregnancy been confirmed by a medical professional?
What are my rights as a patient when having an abortion?
We believe information empowers, so at AVA Care we provide the answers to these questions so you can make a confident decision for your pregnancy.
Some of these questions can be answered through ultrasound by:
confirming the pregnancy is intrauterine
If the pregnancy is not seen inside the uterus, an ectopic pregnancy may be suspected. Ectopic pregnancy is a medical emergency, so immediate confirmation and treatment is necessary.
confirming the pregnancy is viable
Confirming the viability of a pregnancy starts with observing the embryonic/fetal heartbeat. If there is no heartbeat, this could indicate that the pregnancy is already ending via miscarriage.
determining gestational age
Our sonographers will take measurements to determine how far along your pregnancy is.

Do I need an ultrasound before an abortion?
An abortion provider may or may not offer an ultrasound before an abortion; however, an ultrasound provides important information that will tell you more about your options. Abortion procedures and costs vary depending on how far along you are, and some procedures may not be effective in certain cases, such as ectopic pregnancy. To discuss your situation and consider your options, schedule an
abortion consultation today.
